"Housewives are often portrayed in popular culture as taking a coffee break or tea break in their kitchens." Ok it was race time: You ran around the house waking everyone up, you cooked a quick breakfast for the family, got the husband off to work and helped pull together all his paperwork, you ran around looking high and low for the lost car keys, you took the dog for a quick walk to pee, you put a load of clothes on to wash, tossed the dishes in the dish washer and dropped the kids off at school and raced back in time to get the bills in the mail- phewww!... now your ready for a break.
It's common for housewives to ask a neighbor over for the morning coffee break and serve hot tea or coffee and a mid-morning dessert with the break. During this break neighbors discuss the duties for the day and just take a breather from all the fast pace chores that have already been done. Afternoon coffee breaks take place too but mostly for those wife's who don't have children running home from school. The break lasts about 30 to 40 minutes; then guest and housewife both go back to their household chores.
