What is this holiday about?
This holiday is a celebration of romance. The goal of this observance is to make the public aware of how important romance is and how important romance is to our relationships.
An important point to make is not only should we be aware of how we add romance to our own lives but rather how our mates add romance to our lives. Be aware of the efforts your partner put into the relationship. It's important not to take your loved one for granted. Way to often romantic efforts go unnoticed and that's why August is Romance Awareness Month. Notice and appreciate your partners efforts no matter how big or how small.
How is this holiday celebrated?
Romance Awareness Month is celebrated by letting your spouce know how appreciated they are.
Let them know how much you enjoy the little things they do. Tell them how much you love it when they caress your back. Let them know how it makes you feel when they hold your hand. Let them know how you love it when they cook your favorite meal. When a person knows they are loved keeps the relationship healthy. The act of communicating about love is romantic in itself.
Add a bit of romance in your life: It doesn't matter if your married, engaged or single. Romance can be incorporated no matter what your status is.
Origin of this Holiday
Our research did not find the creator of this day. We did however find that this holiday has been celebrated for many many years. There is plenty of documentation to support that this holiday does indeed exist. This is referred to as a "National" day. However, we did not find any congressional records or presidential proclamations for this day. Even though we didn't, this is still a holiday to celebrate.
