Some salads are based on food items other than fresh vegetables:
In honor of National Salad Month -Welcome to our Salad Directory. Salads based on certain food item are popular all over the world and all throughout the year too. If I were to guess, I would say we eat some type of salad every week of the year. Now don't be thinking about those tossed Garden Salads now. No, I'm talking about those family favorite like "potato salad" that we always serve at barbecue cookouts. I'm talking about "egg salad" that is a must when we need to get rid of left over Easter eggs. I'm talking about "coleslaw" that we serve on top of hot dogs for awsome chili dogs and slawdogs on Friday nights when we're tired and the family is hungary! I'm talking about those "taco salads" that we race through the drive through for at the fast food restaurants. And last but not least I'm talking about all those "tuna salads" we pack in our lunches each week. These are the types of salads I'm talking about :)
Other Salads that include ingredients other than fresh vegetables are:
Antipasto salad, Chicken salad, Cucumber salad, , Eggplant salad, Ham salad, Israeli salad,
Pea salad, Polish salad, Russian salad, Pretzel salad, Sesame Noodle Salad, Watergate salad,
Shopska salad from Bulgaria, Somen salad from Japan, Tabouli,
