All your mates are drunk having a great time, and you're not drinking and bored out of your brains? What do you do?
Steps
1) - being sober is always ok at a party.
Don't ever feel that you have to drink. In truth, most drinkers may offer you a drink to be friendly, but really couldn't care less if you are drunk or not.
• remember, a lot of the fun of being at a party, regardless of whether there is alcohol, is simply being with people.
• you likely are not the only person not drinking at a party.find other sober people to talk to. This could be a good opportunity to make new friends. Of course, this can be fun.
• if you want to leave a party you're not having fun at, that's your right. If things are getting out of hand, dangerous, or just plain uncomfortable (even if you can't quite put your finger on why...Trust your instincts!)...It's always ok to call it a night. You aren't a party-pooper for ditching a party you don't consider fun.

2) - have some plans for having fun while sober.
if you have some ways to have a good time alcohol-free, you're more able to enjoy yourself without feeling pressured to imbibe.
• watch the funny drunks! It can be really funny to simply watch those idiots act stupid. Take photographs and share these with them at a later date. They can also be used to show them how stupid they look and act when they drink too much.
• act like you're drunk yourself. Your friends won't know the difference and then you can just do stupid things with them--and you won't have to worry about having a hangover!
• enjoy the media center. Watch a movie, invite people to play video games with you, and so on. This is a great technique if you're the shy type.
• play dj - No one will care what you're doing if you rock the house, and you can still be the center of attention.
• Dance! Dance! So what if you make a fool of yourself? Those sloshed souls don't care! Have fun!
• drunks can be fun to talk with. When your friend is buzzed, maybe she'll tell you that secret you've been dying to know. Or say what he really thinks about that situation.
• play bartender. You can also help water down drinks to help out your particularly sloshed friends.
• play strip poker with all the drunk people, odds are you will win. If you don't, you can always cheat. They won't know because they're drunk.

3) - become the designated driver to ensure your friends arrive home safely. this may or may not be "fun", but it may make you the hero of the night, and may give you a warm fuzzy glow for being a good guy or gal.

4) - make sure to secure a ride home yourself. you don't want to be driven to a party only to have your ride get trashed.

Tips
If your good friends are getting really drunk, give them lots of water. This will prevent what would otherwise be a terrible hangover for them, and make them indebted to you (which is always a good thing).
When people are together and drinking, they generally think they are much more drunk than they are.
Don't drink and drive. Don't let your friends do it, either.

Warnings
• It's generally better to avoid heavy-handed lectures about drinking at parties. You won't make friends and can come off as "holier-than-thou". You can still help others avoid alcohol without being overly judgemental.
• Not having fun is bad for your health, so have fun. And having fun sober is even better for your health.
• Sharp pointy objects and drunk people are a bad mix.
• If you attempt to blackmail someone with a picture, it may be harmful to your health and it can be illegal.
• If you feel that the others are doing things you would rather not, like become rowdy, sexually harrassing, or neighbors are threatening to call the police, leave. You can get into trouble inadvertently by being at an out-of-control party or situation and it's best to not be there when and if something bad happens.
• Do not take advantage of someone who is intoxicated and get her to have sex. Not only is it considered rape, the consequences could be terrible.
