Smokey is quite the character and has been a part of the family for over 10 years now! He keeps me entertained all the time and he always knows whey I need a extra hug. Smokey is one of 7 cats that live with us and he is no dough the king of his castle. He keeps all the other cats in line and loves every minute of it too. He's a sucker for helping me on the computer as well.
Let me introduce you to Smokey's girlfriend "Ms. Kitty."
Ms. Kitty is the love of his life and he spends hours each day just snuggeling up to her. She is madly in love with him as well. They give each other baths and talk all the time.
We named Smokey "Smokey Dumpster" because he was a poor little dirty cat that lived with his identical brother and sisters at the trash dumpster's down the road. I'm really not sure how he ended up at our house because he was way to small to of walked all that way.
Early one morning I came out of the house to feed the fish down by the lake. To my surprise there he was. All sick with crud coming out of his nose and eyes. I could see his little ribs poking through his poor unnourished skin. I immediately cuddled him up and rushed him inside to clean him up and feed him. I made an appointment with the vet which was about 17 miles away and back to recovery for him.
Since we lived on the river, Smokey was forever jumping off of the pier into the water when we were swimming. It was unbelievable to say the least. Cats are not supposed to like water ya know. We were always afraid that some big bass would see him and swallow him up because he was so little. You know a bass fish will swallow up a baby duck so if he can do that then he could surely swallow this little frail kitten. We would always have to quickly swim to him and let him sit up on the water floats with us.
Even today he is still not afraid of water. He loves it when its bubble bath time for me. Why does he love it? He loves it because he thinks its his treat too! He will crawl right up on my belie and lay down. He will lazily toss his arm over to the side and poke at all the bubbles while he relaxes.
