Homemade Soup Day (always February 4) - US Observance / Food Holiday
"Soup is a food that is made by combining ingredients such as meat and vegetables with stock, juice, water or another liquid. Hot soups are additionally characterized by boiling solid ingredients in liquids until the flavor is extracted, forming a broth. Soup is often very nutritous."
"One of the first types of soups can be dated to about 6,000 B.C. Boiling was not a common cooking technique until the invention of waterproof containers (which probably came in the form of pouches made of clay or animal skin) about 9,000 years ago. Soup can be made out of broth or a form of liquid."

In the Roman Catholic Church: (February 4)
Andrew Corsini - In 1373, while he had been celebrating the midnight Mass of Christmas, the Blessed Virgin appeared to him and told him he would leave this world on the feast of the Epiphany, to meet God. It came to pass, and he died on that day.
Miracles were so multiplied at his death that Pope Eugene IV permitted a public cult immediately; but it was only in 1629 that Pope Urban VIII canonized him. His feast is kept on February 4.
Saint Gilbert (d. 1189) - He was canonized in 1202. His liturgical feast day is on 4 February, commemorating his death.
Saint John de Britto - St. John de Brito was beatified by Blessed Pius IX on August 21, 1853. He was later canonized by Pope Pius XII on June 22, 1947. St. John de Brito's feast day is February 4.
Saint Rembert of Torhout - Rimbert is revered as a saint particularly in Friesland. His feast day is 4 February. After Ansgar, epithetised the Apostle of the North, Rimbert is revered as the Second Apostle of the North, besides the missionary Sigfrid of Sweden and the Reformator Johannes Bugenhagen likewise honoured.
Saint Veronica - "Saint Veronica or Berenice, according to the "Acta Sanctorum" published by the Bollandists (under February 4), was a pious woman of Jerusalem who, moved with pity as Jesus carried his cross to Golgotha, gave him her veil that he might wipe his forehead. Jesus accepted the offering and after using it handed it back to her, the image of his face miraculously impressed upon it.
"The Devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus was eventually approved by Pope Leo XIII in 1885. St Veronica is commemorated on Shrove Tuesday, the same day as the feast day for the devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus."
