Give baskets full of lovely flowers to your near and dear ones."
Some resources call this holiday "Flower Basket Day" and some said it was called "Free Flower Basket Day," but either way it's a day to give a basket of flowers.
Why January and Why the 4rd day?
We did not find any reference to why the month of January or why the 4th of the month was picked to celebrate this day.
This holiday is referred to as a "National" day- However, we did not find any congressional records or presidential proclamations for this day. Even though we didn't, this is still a holiday that is publicized to celebrate.
So enjoy the day and have fun with it.
We found recognition from calendar sites and personal Internet sites that blog and share information about this holiday. Some sites talk about how to keep flowers alive indoors and some talk about how flowers can be uplifiting to people feeling down and depressed.

"Live Everyday like A Holiday!"
Is there anyone out there that doesn't like flowers? I know I sure love them and if I could, I would have a new pot of flowers on my table every single day of the year! Getting flowers is such a special treat and I sure hope my hubby celebrates this holiday by bringing a basket of flowers home. "Live ones please!" Not a basket of cut flowers but a basket of living and breathing flowers in moist dirt, that's the kind that I like. "Live Everyday like A Holiday!" pam svoboda, webmaster
