What is this holiday for?
We are encouraged as individuals to play a role in making the world a better place. Avoid war and promote peace. It all starts with us so teach your children well.
The World Peace Organization promotes & says this:
"If we start teaching our children by example, instead of just saying things and not following through ourselves, maybe, just maybe, they will understand the importance of their actions and deeds." "It is a simple way to teach our children that we do stand for living in a peaceful world." "That humans, as a species, can learn from their mistakes, and live in balance with the planet, instead of destroying everything we touch." "If we can instill that profit from corrupt means will be a loss for mankind, and endanger our planet's ability to enable us to survive, then perhaps they will have lives that will be worth living in the future."

Origin of this holiday:
World Peace Day appears to be a grass roots effort. It was started by Don Morris of Miami Florida. It was started around 1997. You may also know Don as the "Peaceguy".

The Basic Christian idea
The basic Christian ideal promotes peace through goodwill and by sharing the faith with others, as well as forgiving those who do try to break the peace. Below are selections from two gospels:
